The Brisley Bell, Norfolk

About

In a rural village on the fringes of a conservation area, The Bell (affectionately known as The Brisley Bell) really hits the mark when it comes to location, and its interiors are just as impressive. Quirky but not gaudy, stylish but not pretentious, the design plays to the strengths of the beautiful 17th-century building. Made up of a traditional drinking bar and snug (complete with Chesterfield sofas and open fires), Green Room, Garden Room, and outdoor terrace, each of the eclectic spaces panders to your mood, and you can even bring your dog along with you. There is also a large, award-winning beer garden which is the perfect meetup spot in the summer and includes a croquet lawn, courtyard, herb garden, and meadow. Passionate about the environment and the rural location, the pub goes to every effort to buy locally and use eco-friendly products. In 2017, the renovation of The Bell included many environmentally sustainable ideas.

Food and Drink

Michelin-trained Head Chef, Hervé Stouvenel, brings a certain je ne sais quoi to the table with a hint of his French-influenced cooking style. This, combined with his passion and unrivaled flair, clinched The Bell the title of Great British Pub of The Year 2021 and was one of The Telegraph’s Top 50 Foodie stays. You’ll find only the finest seasonal ingredients go into his dishes, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. If you’re hoping to spark some romance, head for the Green Room, or if you’d rather just sink into a sofa by the fire, drink in hand, the snug’s the place to go.

Rooms

Housing six uniquely designed bedrooms, the converted barns provide the perfect setting for a relaxing country escape. While Hunny, Stewkey, and Troose try to steal the limelight with their roll-top baths, Hindol shows off with its magnificent wet room that wouldn't look out of place in a 5-star hotel. Whichever room you choose to stay in, you're greeted with bespoke furnishings, swanky design, and the kind of luxurious touches you only dream of having at home.
